In three days of classes, Consultants are given the basic knowledge, tools, and resources needed to become expert in one or more areas of equipment leasing. Consultants choose either an industry or industries they are familiar with, or industries they have always wanted to work in. Wildwood provides training in the basics of leasing, plus sales and marketing and all the "back room" paperwork details, too.


POTENTIAL TO EARN OVER  $100,000  IN THIS BUSINESS

The process is not complicated or difficult. You are one of four people in the process, the key one, the person who gets the lease transaction accomplished. You are the lease Broker.

The other three parties are 1) the Vendor (or Dealer) who’s selling the equipment, 2) the company that’s acquiring the equipment, and 3) the Funding Source that supplies the capital to fund the lease.

As an example, let’s say you have received a request for a small lease transaction of $30,000. You have obtained pricing from each of your various Funding Sources. After you decide which one to use — based on the credit information, dollar amount of the transaction, type of equipment, etc. — you simply mark up the cost of funds (which is what your selected Funding Source will charge you) to include your desired profit.

Your profit is determined by adding "points" to your cost of funds, one point being 1% of the equipment cost. On a $30,000 lease request, a one point mark-up is a $300 commission to you.

The number of points (profit) you add to the transaction is totally up to you. However, most funding sources allow a maximum commission of 15 points, while a few permit up to 20 points. If you mark up this $30,000 transaction a modest 5 points, you will earn $1,500.

You receive your $1,500 in a lump sum when the transaction has been completed. "Completed" means that all lease documents have been executed and the equipment has been delivered. Your funding source will then deliver two checks simultaneously, one to the vendor for $30,000 to purchase the equipment and one to you in payment of your $1,500 commission.

All of these transactions are performed on a nonrecourse basis, meaning when and if the customer does not pay, goes bankrupt, goes out of business, etc., your money is not at risk. It is the Funding Source’s responsibility to deal with the situation.

Though you will usually be handling transactions from $5,000 to $500,000 or even higher in some cases, let’s conservatively use our $30,000 transaction — adding only 5 points profit — as the basis for an income calculation.

With just three vendors  who are doing only two transactions per month, let’s see what your income would be for a year:

3 Vendors (Equipment Dealers)
X 2 transactions each

= 6 completed transactions per month
X $30,000 average cost of equipment 

= $180,000 total monthly equipment cost
X .05 (5 points profit per transaction)

= $9,000 monthly commission to you
X 12 months

Establishing a relationship with three Vendors who are the source of two $30,000 lease transactions per month is realistic, and a 5-point profit is conservative.

The First Way to Make Money
Whatever type of financing you do your profit is determined by adding "points" to the gross amount of the transaction or equipment cost. Each point equals 1% of equipment or transaction cost. Your typical earnings will range from 5% to 10%. Let's take the example below: a 7% commission.  Example: $50,000.00 transaction 7%= $3,500.00.  If you average 3 transactions a month at $50,000.00, each which is very attainable, your profit should be $10,500.00 per month or $126,000.00 per year.

The Second Way to Make Money
Each time you do a lease transaction you have a supplier of equipment or a "vendor" as we call them in the finance industry. When you complete a financing transaction the next thing you will do is introduce your financing program to the "Vendor" and show him how to increase his sales by offering a finance program. In the training we show you how to make the presentation. For example after 6 or 8 months you may have 5 or 6 vendors sending you only 1 transaction a month, which should be attainable.

For Example:    5 vendors sending 1 transaction a month at $50,000 each = $250,000.  $250,000 x 7% = 17,500.00 per month or $210,000.00 per year.  If you do 3 transactions a month directly with your clients and five transactions a month with your vendors, you can see what your annual income can be. Even if you reduce this by 50%, you are still earning a nice 6 figure annual income. The best part is that your vendors send you business this month, next month and next year.
